Alexis day 5 So I am really happy for their family they won't be starving. Also theyabre eating a lot. They should save the food or the left overs. So they would a least not have to use their own food for two days. They are poor and need money. So they need to save up. Also I think that they are a little more happier than the last few weeks. They lost there mom. So logan Amarius isn't a word well maybe. Anyway it is a person. He is worker for them. Mary,arial,and callie. He is just a farmer who is planting their garden. Remember when Mary ripped up all the plants in the garden. Well amarius he planted them. I think that their mother planted them even know it says that amarius did. Well anyway let's get back. So I also didn't like how Callie threw up. It didn't bother me that much but a little wired, but it happens you can't controll what the author puts in the book. I really don't like how the author is really making Mary having such a bad time. The author is making that Mary thinks that it is her fault and it isn't. I really just don't want that. It is getting annoying. Well I do a little agree with Mary that why isn't she in the conversations. So ya. Now sometimes Mary gets a little mean to her self or she thinks mean stuff to people or her self. So she should lay off of thinking of what people might think of her, but we all know that she is really nice and she should think mean about her self. So now that they are now happy and don't need anyway to stop them. So I think they got a little relious at the end , but that didn't really bother me that much. Anyway I thought the same with Mary it is a little wired how it doesnt hurt when you sit up but it hurts when you sit down. Also I mean I think the story is getting a little mean. The reason why would you like cut off someone's legs so they could not dance anymore. I mean sometime people are not fair. Also another part reminded me of this weekend and it was so hot that you really needed something cold. That was when they where done with the garden. Having a garden sounds fun. I wander since amarius mentioned a doctor maybe hes going to tell some people. i really hope callie goes back to school soon. im really worried about her weight she is supposed to get taller but shes shrinking and getting very skinny. im so happy there mama sent a letter. but i cant believe she asked for money. she left her kids and she expects them to give her money crazy. she wants them to give her the 50 dollars she left them to survive. if they spent that she wants her hard working son to give her the money he works so hard to earn. its unbelievable that she left them to follow her dream so consided really. it makes me so so sick. oh well Bye-Bye. Alexis day 6 I want to just say that what Callie is doing to herself she needs to stop. Now I don't want to say what she is doing to herself but that can kill you. I really didn't like how the autor is doing this. I know I am saying in all of my reflections about all the negative stuff so I am sorry about that. But I do like how the autor is just kinda making a mystery. It is really cool that he/she is doing this. So I do agree that maybe her throwing up isn't a natural one.this may sound gross but she probably put her fingers in her mouth three times and gaged. Then she was by the toilet while she was doing this. That wounld have happen anyway if Mary said don't eat to much. So the author is very creative I will tell you that. Also now that they are with someone they are going to need a doctor and amarius is saying I will call and bet you a doctor. Well I really didn't like how Mary said no " remember what happen last time." Well Mary you need to stop thinking about the past and think what will happen to your sister if she doesn't get this. You should really take it. Why would you wast this kind of ofer. Well know the only thing Callie will eatis chicken broth. That is kinda wired. That's like eating chicken but the soup left over. Well it actually is. Logan I do agree with you that her goal is like making Callie's life better. You should always go for your self first of think of your self first SOMETIMES. Not all the time. This book reminds me of Bud Not Buddy because they are both about orphans trying to live their life with no parents (also reply to this if I already said this, because I feel like I wrote that). Grace Day 5 Shane i think Amarius was probably there kind of grandfather but not because they dont have any relitives. Do you know what i mean? All the food Amarius brought probably let Callie meat up so she's not so skinny. I think Ariel talked so much because it's the first man he could talk to besides the ones at the gas station. I know that ice cream is good, but I do not think it is healthy for a dog. I would be worried it would make the dog sick. This book is so depressing because Mary Belle is sort of left out of the way and Callie and Ariel were happier around Amarius, so she is making this book seem very depressed. Does anyone know what a cicada is? I think that a cicada is an insect of some sort, but I thought that a cicada was a fruit at first, though! I am seriously super happy that the author did NOT describe how Callie threw up that much, or else I would have thrown up myself! That would not be pretty. I found an unusual plural on page 89, and the word was worrisome. It was man vs man when Mary Belle was acting a little rude in her mind to Ariel and Amarius. Lauren Day 4. It was scary when Amarius came into the kids house without asking. Why did Mary Belle not allow Amarius to cook the fried chicken? I found a simile on page 73 paragraph three "Amarius was very small, shaped like a boomerang". I think it was very nice of Callie to give Amarius a black stone. I am really enjoying this book and can't wait to discover more about their mother and whether or not she will ever return. I feel bad for Miss Mannie with all the fleas. Pea soup sounds disgusting!!! Grace I do not know why Callie's mother wouldn't allow her to have friends over, it sounds like my mother. Maybe it is because she is really young and just trying to be protective.

Logan day 4 That was funny how Mary Bellee had got scared by someone that wasnt even trying. But back to the story I think Callie will crak soon and then spill the beans about they're mother. does every one eles agree. Logan day 3 I feel that Mary Bellee is making to much of a big deal about keeping the motheres gone secret.Do you guys (Shane ,Moria ,Grace ext) agree. Shane Day 4 I think these chapters started out very interesting. Mary Belle told this man, Amarius, that their mama is gone. I think he is very trust-worthy, what do you think? He is going to try to help them out and give them food, like fried chicken. I think that's very nice of him since Mary Belle ripped out the nice garden that he made. I'm glad she helped him fix the garden. I think it's funny that Mary Belle always said that Callie was going to tell someone someday about mama, and here Mary Belle was the one who told. I think Amarius is going to make some really good fried chicken. Grace, I thought it was strange that Mary Belle thought of stealing a dress for Callie. I guess she knows they can't afford it. I don't know why mama never let Callie have friends over. Maybe it's because mama was sad and didn't want any other kids over. Mary Belle feels better now that Amarius knows. Maybe things will be better for them now and they can eat better food.

Samantha Day#4 How do you guys think that Amarius found out that their mother was gone or went missing?I don't think that Amarius should tell Miss Dearly what do you guys think?I didn't know that Amarius had a cane.Mary Belle did seem happier in chapter 8 because Amarius knew the secret and she felt safer and she felt like she can talk to someone about it.Grace,I do not get that Mary Belle would tell a best friend but not a really really close friend.I wonder why the mom left the dress in the closet don't you guys think she would have gaven it to one of her friends or something?Moriah,I think that Mary Belle is 16 or 17 do you agree?I think it was sooo nice that Amarius was asking to cook them food and then bring it to their house.I kinda get why Mary Belle would not want at first Amarius to cook for them because she probably doesn't want Amarius to think he's taking care of them but don't you want to show a litttle respect instead of slamming the screen door.I think it was cute how Callie was hugging Mary Belle and looking up at her and saying "are you haveing a rough time?" don't you guys agree?I'm glad that Mary Belle finally said yes to Amarius cooking for them.

Grace Day 4 Moriah i think Mary Belle is probably about 16-18 . Also Moriah i dont think it would be different if the story was today.Sammi i dont love this book but i like this book , but i do think its the best that the class has to do. Sammi i thought the letter was very understandable in my opinion.Do any of you know what "Sly-like" means?I dont know what the word "Dusk" means but i think it mean dark or something like that. I thought it was strange how Amarius just shows up at the front porch.It does seem like Amarius is a little nosey. I think chapter 7 was boreing because it only explained how Mary Belle told Amarius that there mama had left. Do you guys think chapter7 was boreing? When Mary Belle's friend thought Mary Belle was happy because of a boy it reminded me of me and my friends because when one of my friends are really happy it probabaly is about a boy , but they can never tell with me beacuse im always happy.i dident know what lolled means so i looked it up and it means to droop , dangle , to be lazy or relaxed.It seems like they treat Miss Mannie like a person.Do you guys see that? Wounder if Callie ever found a errow head because she picks up rocks.I dont know what "muzzle"means but it sounds like a funny word.So far through this book it seems like Mary Belle likes to be independent. Moriah Day 4 Grace, I think that their mom probably was planning to leave beforehand and wanted to spend as much time as possible with Callie. I can tell that Mary Belle is so stressed out that she could start to become a little rude while she thinks. I sometimes feel like that. Amarius seems like a wise man, but it is kind of awkward that he knows things that Mary Belle doesn’t about her family. I was a bit shocked myself! Were any of you guys shocked? Can any of you guys tell me what “coons” are? The word “coons” is on page 75, paragraph 2. It was man vs himself when Mary Belle was trying to decide whether to get fried chicken for Callie or not. I think that this book is really sweet. What do you think?

Alexis Day 3 Well today I think that maybe the mon should have at least left a little more or she could have waiten more. Well until she ran away. I though thtat it was a sad part when the note from the mom came. I mean would you really want your mom to run away? Also I think the Mary really should be able to tell one person. laso it is really good for Callie. She will be May Queen. I am glad to that the mom left the dress. When the call came I was also thinking that it was their mom. Mary should have at least thanked someone for the plnats. You need them so you use them. Also I think the mother did the garden not Amerase. Also I think the same thing to Laren with the note and how much money. Shane, I do agree with you and the their missing momma want come back. angie day3# i think this book is really cool. this book reminds me of the hunger games because in this book Amarius wants to die and in the hunger games their mother wants to die i feel really bad for amarius because he's old and he's going to die soon.i cant bielieve that mary bell made that disaster in the garden after alll the hard work amarius put into it. especially that he's abot to die soon.oh well. talk to you later. bye-bye.

Grace Day 3 Moriah I did realize that the author doesn't use " " when someone is talking. I don't have a favorite character yet Moriah. I don't agree Sammi that the letter under Callie's bed was weird. I hope the book will get happier to Sammi. Lauren I do agree that Miss Mannie is a weird name for a dog. In the letter Mama wrote it seemed like Mama left for a reason, but will come back. I think and hope she'll come back to her kids. I felt bad for Callie and Mary Belle. I felt bad for Callie because she had no real mom that cared about her and I felt bad for Mary Belle because she had to take care of her sister when she was only six years old. I found an unusual writing on page 43, it said "that that". What do you think "but we made do" means? That was so mean when their mom was there and she said Mary Belle's songs she made weren't dancing songs. Trust me, all songs are dancing songs. It seems like when the mom was there she didn't like Mary Belle. I found another weird writing, it said "been been". I wounder if there going to tell Amarius and Miss Dearly about how there mom left.Maybe if Mary Belle tells him how there mom left maybe he will give his money in his will to them because people say hes rich and we know there poor .If Callie actully wins the May Queen i think she will be so happy. I no i would be if i was chosen.I dont get why Mary Belle would tell her best friend but not a realy close family friend.Do you guys get that? Shane Day 3 I think Chapters 5 and 6 are very interesting because May Belle becomes May Queen and the kids are getting a little used to not having their parents there. What do you think? Moriah Day3 I think that that the beginning of the book was confusing, too, Alexis. I think that the kids pay the house bills from Ariel working at the gas station, Shane. They could be doing something else to pay the bills, though. I wonder what Mary Belle’s life would be like if it were in today’s time! What do you guys think it would be like? I think that the way the author described what Callie looked like on the porch was pretty gross, and I kind of feel bad for her. I think I know why the title of the book is Mama, Let’s Dance! The title is Mama Let’s Dance because Mary Belle’s mother used to dance with them and teach them how to dance. How old do you guys think Mary Belle is? Ariel seems like a really hard worker. I wonder how the kids pay all of the house bills. What do you think? I am beginning to really like this book. If I were Mary Belle, I would try not to worry. I would trust Ariel, and know that he will make enough money at work. I guess she is just worried about if they cannot pay their bills, then they would get caught that their mom left, then they would have to all be split up. That would be the worst. I think they should tell someone and even if they get put in foster care, they could probably all stay together. We have three foster kids from the same family, and they did not have to get split up. I think Mary Belle is tired of acting like the mom. She is too young to be the mom.

Sammi day 2 I thought the note that was hidden under Callie's bed was weird.I thougth it was weird becaus it said that god was mad at her don't you agree?I was noooooo when Callie said she already told somebody about Mama leaving them.But I was releved and happy when Callie said she only told Miss Mannie it was funny that Callie told the dog because it just shows that she is still a little girl.I thought it was nice of Callie and Mary Belle brougth lunch to Ariel because there all alonewithout a mom or dad and there caring about each other bring each other lunch's that's what brothers and sisters are made for.I thougth Mary Belle was being over dramatic when Ariel told her to go get ice cream and she wouldn't take the money because she thought sooner or later were gonna have no money but Ariel has a job and hopefully Mary Belle might get one later.I thougth it was sad when Callie said "We can't afford it,Mary Belle."Yes,Grace I think that Mary Belle is telling the story.Angie I think the mama left because she couldn't take it anymore.I hope the kids get happier in this book Do you? Grace Day 2 I like blogging a lot ! Do you guys? First off the first page i started to feel really bad for what Callie thought about how her brother thinks of her self. I found a personification on page 24, paragraph 5 which was "Her face went so quiet".I thought it was mean when Mary Belle said "we always play house"because like i said on day one Mary Belle is like Callie's mom and Ariel is like Callie's dad. How they got Miss Mannie reminded me of my aunt's frouth dog they just found because they live on a huge farm and on day they saw a black lab with some other kind of dog to mixed which is a hybrid and they finally got her and then they couldn't find a person who was the owner of that dog.I'm surprised that no one spilled that mama left because you know someone always tells a secret.I was happy but sad. The happy thing was that they were going to do something kind for there hard working brother,but the bad thing is they barlly had enough money to by grapes and bologna because they only had $2.63 cents left in there sugar jar . I thought it was weird how Callie thought telling her dog that her mom left was a big deal. Do you guys agree? I don't get how they can barley take care of themselves but they still have a dog. I mean if i was in this situation i would see if someone you know if they could watch the dog for a while. But of corse if you do that make sure the people are friendly to dogs. So no matter what you could still get the dog back when you have enough money.At this point i just want them to tell somebody that there mom left, but someone they can trust. Don't they have a grandma or some kind of relative to help them. Gosh!aaahhhhhhh that was so sweet when Ariel gave Mary Belle a dollar for ice cream.I would be Callie in the background singing ice cream,ice cream, ice cream! I felt bad for Mary Belle because that was going to be the first time she was going to cry sense mama has left.Happy Blogging!

Moriah Day 2 Hey guys! An apron is a thing that people wear when they’re cooking to sort of prevent themselves from getting their clothes dirty, Grace. I know that Callie is thinking and being imaginative and stuff, but it bothered me when she told Mary Belle to teach her how to bake cookies with clay. I keep finding spots in this book where someone is talking, but the author never EVER puts quotation marks in any space! Has anyone else noticed that? I feel bad for the kids because they don’t necessarily have a good amount of money to get much food to eat, while the setting is practically in earlier times when things were very low priced. It is so sad! I don’t know about you guys, but I think that Callie is such a cute character that she is almost my favorite! Do any of you guys have a favorite character in the book yet? I think it’s horrible that Mary Belle does all the work at the house while her brother works at a gas station and her sister just plays. This book is starting to sort of get better! What do you think about the book?

Alexis day 1 The story is a sad story. Shane i do not agree with you and that the mother just went somewhere else because she was the only parents there. if you have kids no matter what happens you should take care of your kids. there is no reason why the mother should have done that. Also the book is little wired in the beginning. i was thinking also at the beginning that is this like maybe a second book or something like that. well because it really didn't make sense at all at the beginning. i got a little confused at the beginning that would be why. Another thing is this one part that i though was wired. How the Ellie Mea girl her and her mother have almost the same names. I know they said that they where the same but they are just so close that it is a little wired. Does anybody else think? well a guess happy blogging with everybody else too!

Angie day 2 hello there. this book is very interesting. okay my last reflection i kinda mest up because in a wrinkle in time her dad didn't blow up. that was in the hunger games so if that confused you that was my mistake. so there man vs.man when callie and mary bell were arguing over keeping the secret about there mother. i feel really bad because there about to run out of money. well i hope this story gets better. bye.

Lauren Day #1 After reading the first two chapters, I think the children are going to support themselves by finding a part-time job that will allow them to go to school and still earn money. I also found it sad that their mother left them; I do not think it was right for her to leave them. If my mother left me the way theirs did, I would not know what to do. I would probably cry and hope that one day she would return. I would also call the police and ask for their help to find her. I am curious to discover why their mother left them, what do you think the reason is?

Shane Day 1 I think the book starts out slow. I wondered what the name of the character was too, Moriah. I think that it's sad that the kids don't have a mother or a father. Angie, I think the mother left because it was too hard for her to be the only parent. She got stressed and left, that's what I think. This book reminds me of Bud, not Buddy because the kids in both books are orphans. Mrs. Farabaugh, I think the kids should call their friends and stay with them (but I doubt they will do that). I hope this book gets happier. Happy blogging!

Grace Day #1 I completly agree with you Mrs.Farabaugh that the title is strange. I wonder what the title means! Do you guys? I think the kids will do what they have to support thereselves . To survive with out a mom and dad.Probably Ariel will get a job and Mary Belle too. So basiclly Ariel would be Callie's dad and Mary Belle would be Callie's mom because Callie is little and those other two are the only ones that can do something about this. I would be scard to take care of kids and a house with out a mom and not tell anybody for them to help you.It seems like these kids are very religious.It seemes like Mary Belle is telling the story. Dont you guys agree? Mary Belle is very protective for Callie. I mean really protective ! Its good that there all nice to each other because you know how some siblings fight non-stop thats the complete opposite with theses kids. I dont think the mom just left i think something else happend that the kids dont know about beacuse that night she was danceing in the kitchen with her kids. Normally you would think she would be mean to her kids. Dont you think? That would be awful for your mom or dad to die. I think its wird how Mary Belle thought her dad could come back mean while hes dead.I wounder what a apron is. I wounder what the letter there mama left for them says.It seems like Mary Belle gets picked on in school.This book probably is in the late 1900 because today most driive ways are paved with cament but there drive way is dirt. Do you guys like this book so far?

Samantha Day #1 I don't understand why the author also put the title as Mama Let's Dance don't you agree? I would never imagine my mom or dad leaving me and my brother home for ever that would just break my heart because we are not old enough to have a job to get food,drinks,and shelter unless we went around the neighborhood to try to make money every day but then the neighbors would probably get annoyed for paying children money every day. I also can't imagine my parents leaving because they would probably know how we would feel all sad and depressed every time we came home and there was nobody home to come give us a "hello" or "How was your day?" Riding Freedom reminds me of Mama Let's Dance because both of the parents left the kid but the might have died but the girl was put up in an Orphanage. I think the children will support themseleves taking care of themselves and Ariel already has a job so they has at least some money for now but later they might have to start working or helping people with jobs because sooner or later they will find them selves with no money. I found two setting so far it is the school and their house.

Moriah Day 1 Just at the first sentence I was a bit confused because the character didn’t mention what his/her name was. I did not like that at all, and I guess that made me really impatient! I found a metaphor on page 4 paragraph 2, “The way a picture fades from a movie screen.” I think that the kid was crying “please come home mama” because his mother either died or got divorced from their father. What do you think? I feel that this will be a depressing book just from the start of it. What do you guys think the rest of the book will be like? I found an error on page 6 paragraph 2, the error was that they forgot to put quotation marks (“) when Ariel was talking. It should be, “If anyone knew”, Ariel said, “even Amarius, then he might talk. If he talked, then the country people find out, and then,” Ariel said, “Who knows what might happen?” I wonder if Amarius is a good person or a little evil. This book sort of reminds me of Bud Not Buddy because it’s depressing and they both include a missing family member. I found a simile on page 15, paragraph 11, “As red as if she were picking out beans.” I keep feeling bad for someone whenever they call themselves stupid or dumb. I can’t think of what type of mother wouldn’t let their child wash their hair with a cold, showers can sometimes make you feel better (to me, though)! I think that the children should try to form a pack with each other for love and comfort to support themselves.

Angie day1# --I think this book is quite interesting. this book reminds me of a wrinkle in time because Mary Bells dad blew up in a coal mine explosion, and so did meg's dad. I feel really bad for the kids because they have no parents so basicly they are orphans. isnt that sad.so why do you think their mother left? maybe she left because she was so depressed about their dad and didn't want the kids to worry so she left. this book also reminds me of the hunger games because this girl needs to take care of her little sister and find food and shelter. wll i hope this story gets better nice blogging. bye-bye.

Mrs. Farabaugh Day 1 When I first started reading this book, I thought that the title made no sense whatsoever. I wondered where the author was going with that idea. My mother would never have dreamed of leaving her children alone, so it's hard for me to understand someone who does. This book reminds me of Winn Dixie because the mom leaves the child in that book too. This one seems worse, though, since she left the children with no one to care for them.
